With over 40 years of experience as a stylist and more than 15 years managing salons, Kim has built an incredibly successful career in the hairdressing industry.
Her journey began as a young teenager, training under the guidance of the influential Mimi Wilke at her salon, Hairstyles. Mimi was a key figure in Launceston, helping to introduce European hairdressing techniques and fashion trends from Italy and France in the 1960s. Kim considers herself fortunate to have learned from such a forward-thinking and passionate mentor.
In 1997, Kim joined The Terrace alongside Michael Digney, Robin Atkins, and Gail Bendall. Michael and Robin encouraged her to pursue hairdressing competitions, and they have remained invaluable mentors ever since. Gail, who continues to be a trusted advisor, plays a crucial role in everything related to The Terrace.
In 2020, Kim became the custodian of The Terrace, and she has worked tirelessly to foster both the personal and professional growth of her team. Under her leadership, The Terrace has become more than just a salon, it is a hub of creativity, learning, and opportunity. Kim takes immense pride in watching her staff flourish and evolve, offering them the chance to develop both technically and personally, while ensuring they remain inspired by the latest industry trends.

Kim’s passion for education has been a driving force throughout her career. She firmly believes that continuous learning is essential for both personal development and professional excellence. Dedicated to fostering growth within her team, Kim ensures they have access to a wide array of educational opportunities, always staying ahead of industry trends and innovations.
A natural mentor, Kim has guided countless apprentices, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an ever-evolving industry. Her commitment to education goes beyond the salon floor she actively pursues national and international learning experiences to bring a fresh perspectives and advanced techniques back to The Terrace Hairdressing team.
From visits to the Davines Headquarters in Parma, Italy, to attending the World Wide Hair Tour in Berlin in 2024, Kim is constantly expanding her network and connecting with like minded stylists from around the globe.
Her goal is to bring this knowledge and inspiration back to the salon, ensuring every client benefits from the latest techniques and trends, keeping The Terrace Hairdressing at the forefront of the industry.
