Our story

The Terrace has been offering the ultimate in luxury hair and beauty services for more than 40 years. Opened in 1978 by former owners Michael Digney and Robin Atkins, The Terrace is located in a beautiful Victorian building, in George St, Launceston.

The Terrace's current owner and creative director Kim Cooley leads a team of dedicated and passionate stylists who between them have a combined experience of more than 60 years. They are committed to exceptional customer service and creating the perfect look for every client; ensuring every guest leaves the salon feeling pampered and looking great. The salon interior has a sophisticated feel and has been specially designed to combine a modern style with the unique traditional Victorian architecture of the exterior. The business prides itself on providing a service to meet everyone’s needs.

The Terrace education program is a big focus for the business to ensure that all staff receives the latest training across all aspects of the industry, including new techniques in cuts and colour, product knowledge, and photoshoots.
