Lilly made the big move from King Island to Launceston to begin her Hairdressing Apprenticeship at The Terrace Hairdressing, and she couldn’t be more excited to embark on this new chapter.

Previously, she completed her Certificate II in Hairdressing Services at Hellyer College in Burnie, where she discovered her strong passion for all things hair.

Having successfully completed both her first and second years of training, one of Lilly’s major highlights was participating in the TasTAFE Hairdressing Competition for 2023, where she won the 1st Year Apprentice Top Stylist category. The theme, "slick, shine & style," featured finger waves and pearls. Lilly thoroughly enjoyed the experience, pushing herself to learn new skills along the way. Her success even made it onto 7NEWS and The Examiner, which made her a bit of a local celebrity back home on King Island. While she was expecting a grand red carpet welcome when she returned, it didn’t quite go as planned!

Outside of work, Lilly enjoys cooking, decorating cakes, and hitting the gym. She also loves attending concerts and festivals, with recent highlights including seeing P!NK, G Flip, and PITP. Whenever she gets the chance, Lilly flies back to King Island to visit family and friends.

Looking ahead, Lilly is excited to attend as many educational opportunities as possible this year, eager to continue growing in her craft and advancing her career in hairdressing.
